Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. It was announced on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video on YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over three million times over the first 7 days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
